DATE AND PLACE OF BIRTH: Born September 12, 1966 in Teheran, Iran.
EDUCATION: In 1989 she graduated from George Mason University and received
a bachelor of science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
In 1991 she graduated from George Washington and received a master
of science degree in Electrical Engineering.
HOBBY: space activities, listen to likes to music, hiking, basketball.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Mrs. Ansari has been a successful business woman for more than 18 years.
She is Co-founder and President of Telecom Technologies Inc. (TTI). In
1993 she became Chief Executive Director of the Company and Co-chairman
of the Board. Mrs. Ansari increased the company staff members up to 250
with 100% sequential growth of incomes year over year maintaining the profitability
since inception. TTI is a big supplier of the Softwitch program communicator
for Internet networks and also the Carrier-Grade system which is a reliable
operating system with high availability. In January 2000 Telecom Technologies
Inc. merged with Sonus Networks Inc (NASDAQ; SONS) – a provider of IP-based
voice infrastructure products. Before the TTI company foundation Mrs. Ansari
rendered consultative services to big telecommunication companies on issues
related to the Frame Relay technology (the above-mentioned technology provides
the most rapid data transmission in Internet network). Besides, Anousheh
Ansari thoroughly studied of the ATM Switch product, system which provides
the data, voice and video image transmission in Internet.
In 1999 the Ernst and Young company presented her the Entrepreneur
of the Year Award in the field of telecom technologies in the South-West
Region. In 2000 the Working Woman magazine granted Mrs. Ansari the National
Entrepreneurial Excellence Award.
Mrs. Ansari is currently carries out investment in the development
of ways for radical change of social entrepreneurs; is a member of the
X Prize Foundation’s Vision Circle group and its Board of Trustees; she
is the main sponsor for the Ansari X Prize, a bonus (money) of 10 M doll.
for the first non-governmental organization which will be able to launch
a reusable manned spacecraft in to space. She is a member of the Board
of Directors for Make-a-Wish foundation of North Texas and Collin County
Children’s Advocacy Center. Mrs. Ansari also co-operates with a number
of non-commercial organizations including the PARSA public organization
and Ashoka Foundation in order to support social entrepreneurs throughout
the world. Anousheh Ansari has different technical certificates and also
2 patents for her work in the field of automatic operating and wireless
systems and services. She is currently working toward a master of science
degree in astronomy from Swinburne University. Since February 2006 she
began training at Yu.A. Gafarin Cosmonaut Training Center as a backup of
VC-11 space flight participant.
