Orbit: 789 km x 804 km x 98.7° x
Decayed:
Mission: UoSAT-OSCAR 14 carries store-and-forward communications transponder (VHF and UHF) with 13 Mbytes of solid state storage and a cosmic particle detector. It spent its first 18 months in orbit operating as an amateur store and forward satellite.  In early 1992, all amateur operations were moved from AO-14 to UoSAT-OSCAR 22. AO-14 operations were then dedicated for use by VITA (Volunteers In Technical Assistance) who used it for sending and receiving messages in Africa. The computer used for store and forward communications became non-operational. In March 2000 UO-14 was reconfigured as a single channel FM repeater.  Since then, it was very popular as an FM repeater in space.
In November 2003, UO-14 was been declared officially dead. The Mission Control Centre reported that the venerable and popular bird has reached the end of its mission after nearly 14 years in orbit. Since launch, UO-14 has completed over 72,000 orbits and as many charge/discharge cycles of its on-board NiCd battery. The spacecraft weights 46 kg and is box-shaped (350 x 350 x 650 mm) with four solar panels and 6-meter gravity gradient boom.

Source : AMSAT
Launch: 22 January 1990 at 0h43 UTC, from Kourou Space Center's ELA-2, by an Ariane 40 (V35).
Orbit: 790 km x 805 km x 97.8°, sun-synchronous
Decayed:
Mission: UoSAT-4 carried the scientific payload complement to UoSAT-3, but failed due to an electrical fault after two days in orbit. The experiments were later reflown on UoSAT-5
The three payloads carried by UoSAT-4 were technology demonstration payloads, evaluation the performance of new technologies in the space environment. A Transputer Data Procesing Experiment funded by the European Space Agency (ESA) supports a CCD Earth Imaging camera to provide an in-orbit image processing test bed. A set of Gallium Arsenide panels produced by FIAR/CISE (Italy) and EEV (UK) were used. Payloads were sponsored by ESA, the Royal Aerospace Establishment (UK), and the University of Surrey through Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd. The spacecraft weights 45 kg and is box-shaped (345 x 345 x 600 mm) with four solar panels and 6 m gravity gradient boom.

Notes: Placing a 2.5-meter telescope in orbit by 1975-1980 for studying the stars was “not an unreasonable goal,” Dr. Leo Goldberg told IAU in Hamburg on 31 August 1964. The Harvard Univ. astronomer summed up arguments for telescope in space by saying that he could not agree with those “who prefer to look at the universe through a hazy, dirty, semi-opaque atmosphere.” Cost of such a project could be justified, he said, only if expected lifetime of such an instrument was long. However, he cited Soviet and U.S. progress toward space rendezvous techniques and expected increases in rocket booster power, and said: ‘The future looks terribly exciting.”
Notes 1: Planned for launch in 1983, the Space Telescope is a 13 meter long, 4.3 meter diameter spacecraft weighing about 6,800 kilograms carrying an optical reflecting telescope with a 2.4 meter primary mirror. Originally this project was known as the Large Space Telescope and was to have a 3.0 meter primary mirror, rather than 2.4 meters. The program encountered stiff congressional opposition during the appropriation process, however, beginning in 1975. NASA was directed by Congress to study whether a less expensive space telescope could be substituted for the 3.0 meter version, and during hearings on the fiscal year 1976 budget, NASA replied that a 2.4 meter telescope would save money and could accommodate enough of the scientific workload to make it acceptable to the astronomy community.
