Note: on 11 January 2007, Fengyun
1C was destroyed by a test of a Chinese kinetic-energy antisatellite
weapon launched on a medium range ballistic missile (probably a solid-fuel
DF-21). As of 27 January 2007, over 500 objects had been cataloged. This
is the first known antisatellite intercept since the USA's Delta
180 flight in 1986.

Note: on 21 February 2008, the NRO crippled USA
193 satellite was intercepted by a three-stage SM-3 missile fired from
the USS Lake Erie in the Pacific Ocean. The US Department of Defense reports
that the missile successfully hit USA 193 and cataloged some 153 debris
objects in orbits.
