This graph
shows the number of civilian spacecraft launched every year since 1957
by the Soviet Union/Russia (in red), the
United
States (in blue), other governments (in gray: Europe,
Japan,
China,
India,
Canada,
Israel
and others) and by non-governmental sponsors
(in green: private corporations and
amateurs/students).
It shows an average of 50 spacecraft launched yearly with a gradual augmentation
over time (of some 30 launchs in the 1960s up to 70 at present time). Note
that there was a peak of about 100 spacecraft/year at the end of the 1990s.
